FSC Bamboo
San Francisco-based Smith & Fong Co. announced its Plyboo brand bamboo plywood was awarded Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification by ensuring its bamboo plantations meet the same ecological criteria as an FSC-certified tree forest.

Tomás Alonso's Nube chair won the 2008 Promosedia International Design Competition.The piece "is innovative in its reinterpretation of tradition, with a reference to the Thonet classic chair," stated the jury.

Ikea Sees 20-20
Quebec-based 20-20 technologies Inc. signed a long-term agreement with Ikea for use of its online space-planning software Virtual Planner. The new online tool allows Ikea customers to create and visualize 3D room settings spaces and interactively adjust colour and size.
