VCR is pleased to let its readers know that it has a new Canadian focus (see below), and the journal's companion venture bcfurnitureonline has been replaced this month by furniturelink.ca. The new comprehensive, searchable directory lists over 400 Canadian furniture manufacturers.
With a visual identity designed by Lam Wong, furniturelink.ca builds on the success of the British Columbia version. The manufacturers who supported the former version by paying a fee for adding product images and Web site URLs reported increased sales inquiries to their Web sites.
furniturelink.ca is one of the most cost-effective marketing tools on the Internet generating numerous hits because of its direct link to VCR and a low fee structure.
VCR goes national
Regular readers of VCR will have noticed that VCR now provides information from all regions of Canada. Click on the left menu buttons for links to Canada-wide schools, wood suppliers, trade organizations, environmental groups, design associations, etc.
VCR publisher Stephen Harrison looks forward to the challenges of the expansion. Smaller-scale contemporary manufacturers can expect more "news" from all provinces and more coverage of people/events worldwide.
Stephen welcomes input from Canadian designers, manufacturers and advocates of sustainable manufacturing. If you have opinions, news or knowledge of interest to the "community," submit them to be considered for inclusion in VCR. At over 3,400 page-hits per day, VCR and furniturelink.ca are recognized worldwide.
Your are always welcomed.
