future issues

Many past authors have increased their business by contributing articles to VCR, which are hot-linked to their Web sites. To encourage more input from and about the industry VCR is providing an incentive to Canadian furniture manufacturers to contribute content to the journal (see sidebar for details).

Canadian furniture manufacturers can also increase hits to their Web sites and help finance VCR by paying the low Furniture Link Canada (FLC) click-through fees. You may think that such a small investment would not generate substantial sales, but those who have signed up are convinced. Russell Baker of Bombast Furniture Ltd., Vancouver, stated recently, "I am pleased and surprised by the geographical range of the contacts we have made through our Furniture Link listing."

Future VCR articles will include "Shipment Statistics"; "New Certified Timber Co-operative"; "Effective Web Site Marketing" and your contributions.

Your on this or any of our issues are always welcomed.

(*) Seventh year if the publication of British Columbia Wood Design (preceded VCR, 1995-1997) is included.

Free Offer

Manufacturers listed in VCRs companion directory Furniture Link Canada (FLC) can earn up to 1,000 free click-throughs to their company Web site ($150 maximum).

Just develop an article of 300-500 words with supporting images that will be of interest to VCR readers. The subject matter must support VCR objectives (see masthead above) and must not be primarily for self-promotion. Please send publisher an outline for approval before sending a final submission.

Shorter items, news tips, suggestions, etc., are also welcome and will be credited on a prorata basis.

Wildwood

Saving Trees, Saving Wildwood: Poems for the Future is the title of a new chapbook edited by Chris Bullock and Ruth Loomis. It contains a selection of poems from the Saving Wildwood Poetry Contest held earlier this year. The poems from adult and young poets focus attention on the campaign to purchase the Wildwood property on Vancouver Island and maintain it as a working and educational ecoforestry operation.

Contributors receive neither royalties nor free copies and all proceeds (except production costs) will be donated to Wildwood.

Copies are $10 CAD and available from:
